Established in after 2001, Blackmud Creek is a very diverse community with homes ranging from apartment style condominiums to large single family homes and everything in between. Along the bordering Ellerslie Road is Ellerslie Corner at the intersection of Ellerslie Road and 111 Street. Ellerslie Crossing is a larger shopping complex with walkable access to Save on Foods, Dairy Queen, Orange Julius, Shoppers Drug Mart, Dental Studio, Panago, BMO, Scotiabank, Nomiya Restaurant, Liquor Depot Ellerslie, Ellerslie Medical Centre, Chan Can Wok, Great Clips, Sadie’s Pet Shop, Diva’s Nails, Cobbs Bread Bakery, Precision Custom Tailors & Cleaners, Jackson Chiropractic, Ellerslie Road Denture Clinic, Simple Health, Fresh and Co Salons, RBC Royal Bank, ESSO gas station, Tim Hortons, Petro Canada, MacDonalds, Soby’s Liquor, TD Canada Trust, Starbucks, MariSol Spa and Salon, Ellerslie Registries, and Soby’s.

Heading north for a few minutes along 111th Street from Blackmud Creek is Century Park. Not only is this the location of the Century Park LRT and Transit Station and the Park and Ride, but also a commercial area where one can access restaurants like Brewsters, Starbucks, Spring Roll Kitchen, and Bistecca Italian Steakhouse & Winebar. There is also a Liquor Depot, TD Canada Trust, Rexall, Century Park Dental, Safeway, Spa Lady, and a medical imaging clinic.

Across from Century Park, Heritage Village is the first among a row of commercial hubs. This commercial row includes Heritage Square, Heritage Links and Heritage Lane. Within these complexes of convenience are a huge variety of restaurants including Boston Pizza, Bogani Café, Good Buddy Chinese, and MacDonald’s, Pipers Pub & Pizza, Good Taste Chinese Szechuan Cuisine, Panago Pizza, Tutti Fruiti Breakfast & Lunch, Dream Tea House, Subway, Little Caesars Pizza, Seasons Hot, Subway, Taiwan Bubble Tea, Panda Hut Express, Tokyo Express, and Pizza 73. There is also a Save-on-Foods, Liquor Depot Summerside, a Scotiabank, a Bank of Montreal, CIBC, TD Canada Trust, Petro-Canada, RBC Royal Bank, and a Shoppers Drug Mart.

Across Ellerslie Road from the community of Blackmud Creek is Ellerslie Rugby Park, home to the Edmonton Gold and host to many private events in their clubhouse and banquet hall.

Following 111th Street north from Blackmud Creek are the Kinsman Twin Arenas and the William Lutsky Family YMCA, which is complete with full gym, pool, summer camps, and programs.

The Blackmud Creek Ravine wraps around the south and east sides of the community of Blackmud Creek and residents will find several serene nature trails for hiking, biking, or just walking the dog.

Transportation

The Anthony Henday is accessible to residents of Blackmud Creek by taking 111th Street a few minutes north. Calgary Trail/Gateway Boulevard is also accessible within minutes by the bordering Ellerslie Road. 

Residents of Blackmud Creek will enjoy the convenience of living so close to the Century Park LRT and Transit Centre, accessible by 111th Street. There are also efficient bus routs in the area that can bring residents of this beautiful southwest Edmonton community to the transit centre.
