Overlooking Whitemud Creek Ravine is the beautiful neighbourhood of Aspen Gardens, known for its quiet and serene location close to some of Edmonton's best schools. You will find cozy homes with various floor plans located in the community as well as larger homes nestled along tree-lined streets, walking and biking trails leading down into Whitemud Creek Ravine. Many of the homes for sale in Aspen Gardens were built in the 1960’s, while the remaining were built in the 1970’s, which can be seen in the almost-retro style that some of homes are built in. You will now find more and more newly built homes as well as some of the older properties are removed to make room for new ones. The community is highly active in new developments in the community and strives to keep it's original charm.

While there are no commercial hubs within the actual community of Aspen Gardens, residents need only head east along 40th Avenue for a moment before they reach the Petrolia Shopping Centre, with a large No Frills, the Petrolia Liquor Store, Mini Mart, and the Petrolia Mall, which houses the ABC Child Development Centre Day Care & After School Care, and a Good Stock- one of the city’s most affordable and delicious vegan restaurants!
Just a few minutes drive down 40th Avenue and then south along 111 St NW from Aspen Gardens is Century Park. Not only is this the location of the Century Park LRT and Transit Station and the Park and Ride, but also a commercial area with restaurants like Brewsters, Starbucks, Spring Roll Kitchen, and Bistecca Italian Steakhouse & Winebar. There is also a Liquor Depot, TD Canada Trust, Rexall, Century Park Dental, Safeway, Spa Lady, and a medical imaging clinic.
Across from Century Park, Heritage Village is the first among a row of commercial hubs along 23rd Ave NW that includes Heritage Square, Heritage Links and Heritage Lane. Following Whitemud drive for a few minutes past Southgate Centre, Aspen Gardens residents will find Calgary Trail/Gateway Boulevard, a huge corridor of shopping and restaurants that stretches through the heart of South Edmonton from South Edmonton Common, all the way to Whyte Avenue (82nd Ave NW).
Recreation/Community League/Services in Aspen Gardens
Aspen Gardens overlooks Whitemud Creek Ravine, and gives residents walkable access to several serene nature trails for hiking, biking, or just walking the dog. MacTaggart Sanctuary Trail Loop is a large and unspoiled nature trail winding along the centre of Whitemud Creek Ravine, a perfect spot for animal and bird watching!

Commuting and Transportation in Aspen Gardens
Whitemud Drive and 119 Street border the community of Aspen Gardens, and Whitemud Drive can take residents to Calgary Trail/Gateway Boulevard.
The neighbourhood of Aspen Gardens is also a very short distance to Century Park LRT and Transit Centre. Residents can take advantage of the transit centre’s Park & Ride. There are also very established and efficient bus routs in the area that can bring residents of Aspen Gardens to the transit centre.
