* 2023 Update including new photos!

Wow, this year turned out to be one of the best ones yet! Home owners on Summerside Grande Boulevard really showed up and the decorations were nothing short of incredible. The boulevard was lit up with spooky ghouls, ghosts and there were so many new additions for families from all over to come and enjoy. Summerside Grande Boulevard is really becoming a "go-too" for families for Halloween, and every year it just keeps getting better.

There were decorations for everyone to enjoy, from less scary, but incredibly creative decorations with the use of projectors, and seemingly transparent spectrums, to more mature and scary themes. Trully something to…

Trick-or-treating in a pandemic?

How many of us have been back and forth with that over the past week? These poor kids have been through quarantine, missed birthday parties and much-loved family vacations this year, but do we put them through the risk of Halloween?

For those of us who’ve decided to brave the cold and potential cold symptoms to give their kids a bit of Halloween joy this year, here are a few tips:

1)    Sanitizer. Bring it with you! Douse the kids in it each time you go to a house. As potent as the stuff can be, it can make all the difference when it comes to carting germs between houses and spreading the COVID risk around the neighbourhood.

2)    Lights out- don’t approach! If one of your neighbours doesn’t have so much…

SOUTHWEST EDMONTON’S NEWEST FARMER’S MARKET

As a beam of sunlight suddenly poured into our kitchen I thought, “Did the clouds break? Because I need one.” So I left the chicken dinner on the stove and packed up the kids. But where to go in Windermere on a Tuesday evening?

Bookended by the Starbucks and Brown’s Social Hall, the Currents of Windermere Farmer’s Market runs every Tuesday evening from 4:30pm to 7:30pm and is a perfect place to find some family fun.

As soon as we got there I heard it: “Daddy! Daddy! Can I go on the slide?” My son was practically jumping out of his skin to go down RLT Technologies Inflatable Rental’s MASSIVE slide. Their deal is one slide for a dollar, or unlimited for five dollars, and can I make a…

March Sale Activity for the communities of Riverbend in Southwest Edmonton

The month of March shows the real estate market in the Riverbend area starting to ramp up for the busy spring market ahead. Activity is picking up with multiple sales in each of the communities with a total of 26 sales through the communities for single family, and another 7 sales for condominiums. As I am writing this, we are one week in to April and I can say that sales are already picking up even more as our spring market kicks in to gear. With new listings seeing multiple offers, and high buyer traffic, these communities are clearly a focus for prospective buyers. Below, I have included an infographic illustrating the sales for each individual community in Riverbend.

Looking for a nice place to stop for some of that magic bean drink? Here is a guide to some of our favourite coffee shops in Southwest Edmonton! (in no particular order)

Today’s world of instant information sees many a perspective homebuyer scrolling through homes from their couches, which doesn’t take long to turn tedious. But finding a way to change the scenery with a cup of steamy London Fog or a foamy Cappuccino and a sweet treat while you look for your forever home can really turn an it’s-too-mucky-outside-to-go-anywhere kind of day into an awesome outing!

And this reason to get out extends to more than just the house-hunt. In Canada, we’re pretty well known for our militant loyalty to Tim Hortons, and the convenience factor plays a big…

Southwest Farmers Market Entrance

Yesterday (May 17, 2017) kicked off this year’s Southwest Edmonton Farmers’ Market! The clouds seemed to part after a couple days of rain and cooler weather just in time, and the market was full of people. We had shown up about an hour after the market opened and some of the vendors were already sold out of many of their hot ticket items.

There were food trucks, a variety of vendors offering fresh organic fruit, vegetables, meats, fish, as well as baked goods, crafts, and an eclectic mix of delicious heat & eat dishes from all over the word. Live music and kettle corn added to the fun community atmosphere, making it a great way to spend a Wednesday evening with the family.

The Southwest Edmonton Farmers’ Market is held every Wednesday from…
