Festival Of Trees Edmonton 2018

THE FESTIVAL OF TREES, STILL A HOLIDAY FAVOURITE

Walking into the Festival of Trees is like a Christmas-y trip down a twinkling memory lane for anyone who grew up in this city. I remember as a kid wandering through the Shaw Conference Centre trying to decide which tree was going to win my vote. Impossible task. And speaking of impossible tasks, how do they make those gingerbread houses look like something I’d like to live in andeat at the same time?

It’s no wonder this event stirs up the nostalgia for those of us who grew up here, because it has been fundraising for the University Hospital and kicking off the Christmas season in Edmonton for an impressive 34 years in a row.

This is a question I hear literally every time I sell a new construction property. "Since this house is brand new and covered under Alberta New Home Warranty, do I really need to do a home inspection?

My answer is always the same. I recommend a home inspection even if the property is new and covered under new home warranty for a few different reasons. Windermere Market Activity - May 2017

The month of May was quite busy for the community of Windermere. With 19 single family detached  home sales, 2 of which were over 1 million! Down just slightly from this time last year, but still nice and busy for the spring market. It's still a great time to buy out there with good inventory, less buyer competition and low interest rates.

Southwest Edmonton Farmers Market

Yesterday (May 17, 2017) kicked off this year’s Southwest Edmonton Farmers’ Market! The clouds seemed to part after a couple days of rain and cooler weather just in time, and the market was full of people. We had shown up about an hour after the market opened and some of the vendors were already sold out of many of their hot ticket items.

There were food trucks, a variety of vendors offering fresh organic fruit, vegetables, meats, fish, as well as baked goods, crafts, and an eclectic mix of delicious heat & eat dishes from all over the word. Live music and kettle corn added to the fun community atmosphere, making it a great way to spend a Wednesday evening with the family.

As I write this, snow is flying. Looking outside you would think you were stuck in a snow globe. You would never guess that spring is approaching. The clocks have all “sprung forward,” and we have seen a couple bursts of warm weather, but it’s all been followed by freezing temperatures and massive amounts of snow.
